The All Hallows series of FREE lectures is back. We begin as ever on All Hallows Eve, Thursday 31 October, thereafter on Saturdays until the last lecture, a hybrid lecture in conjunction with the Mausolea and Monuments Trust on Wednesday 27 November and at a slightly later time.
Thursday 31 October, 5pm: Cóilín Ó Drisceoil ‘Yet Nothing is more certaine than death, nor more uncertaine, than the houre theirof…’: Excavations in the Chantry Chapels at St Mary’s, Kilkenny.
Saturday 16 November, 5pm: Dr Roger Bowdler ‘Ghastly Grim’: the 17th century church gateways of London
Saturday 23 November, 5pm: Dr Jean Wilson ‘Faith, Hope, Charity and the Regular Solids: Imagery and Symbolism on Church Monuments’.
The All Hallows series concludes with a joint event held with the MMT in hybrid format:
Wednesday 27 November, 6.30pm, Alexander Stoddart (The King’s Sculptor in Ordinary in Scotland), ‘The Style of the Dead: Why Classicism so often gets the best Sepulchral Gigs’. Attend at The Gallery, Cowcross St, London, or online. In-person attendance entry is from 6pm (to allow for seating), online attendance is at 6.30pm.
