The Newsletter

Volume 37 number 1

Society news and notice of events (face to face as well as online);
a summary of the Spring online lecture series now available on YouTube ;
articles – Sally Badham on a cadaver monument at Frome
Grant Elliott on the fantastic beasts on the Strashleigh monument at Ermington
Robert Tucker on a charity recorded on a monument
Neil Andrews on the Clan Donald graves of Islay
Brian and Moira Gittos on Eric Kennington and his Checkendon monuments
Elizabeth Chalmers and Joyce Wallis on the new Church Recording Society and some monuments at Watton-at-Stone.
And a correction: the opening lecture of the Spring series, ‘Fine and Private Places: or, why study funerary monuments?’ was of course given by Jean Wilson, not Jean Humphries.

How to contribute

We welcome contributions on a range of topics related to monuments and commemoration. Initial enquiries about substantial articles for possible publication in the Journal should be sent to the Editor. Shorter articles and news items can be published in the Newsletter. We also welcome less formal contributions for Monument of the Month and the Blog.

Additional guides on submissions, copyright and publishing online can be found in this section.
