In addition, our colleagues at the Scottish Society for Art History (SSAH)  have an online event they have asked us to share with you – Inside the William Lamb Sculpture Studio, Zoom, 9 May 7-8pm

William Lamb (1893-1951) was one of the most notable Scottish sculptors of the early 20th century and associated with an extraordinary group of writers and artists based in Montrose between the wars, who became central to the Scottish Renaissance. His sculptures include portrait busts of major figures such as Hugh MacDiarmid, Violet Jacob, David Foggie and the young Princess Elizabeth.

After his death, his studio was preserved as a memorial to his work and was opened to the public in 1978. This talk is being given by thanks to the Friends of the William Lamb Studio. The talk is being given by the chair of the Friends, Norman Atkinson.
