Claire Downing has done sterling service for some years as our Membership Secretary. She will be stepping down next year, and we are looking for a volunteer to take over from her. Our members are the lifeblood of the Society, so the person who keeps in touch with them has a crucial role to play.

Claire has sent us this outline of her job:

• Keep up to date records on a secure data base of all current memberships
• Send out welcome packs to new members.
• Send data bases via secure links to publishers and mailing houses.
• Communicate with members enquiries promptly and ensure records up to date.
• Prepare announcements relative to membership for the newsletter.
• Keep records of all membership payments via cheque, PayPal, cash or BACS
• Send out reminders for payment each year
• Remove all unpaid memberships in a timely manner
• Provide Data base via a secure link to publishers of journal and newsletter.
• Keep email address books up to date on outlook.
