In-person Events Co-ordinator

Our programme of church visits, study days and symposia is a vital part of our activities. We also have a full programme of online events, and the whole programme has become too much for one person to manage. Elizabeth Blood is doing an excellent job on the online events, and we are looking for a volunteer to work with her on the in-person events.

This is a great way to get more involved with the work of the Society. You don’t have to be responsible for organising individual events (though there is nothing to stop you!). What we need is someone to work with individual event leaders to coordinate the programme. This involves:

• Co-ordinating approximately three events per year (usually c. April-September)
• Organising risk assessments (in conjunction with any event leader/s)
• Providing booking forms in Newsletter(s) and/or online and (where appropriate) managing bookings, in liaison with the Treasurer and any event leader(s)
• Promotion and marketing of in-person events to membership and beyond, in liaison with Publicity Officer
• Obtain write-ups and permitted photographs (and/or video) of events, for use and publication by the Society

In addition the events coordinator would

• Work with the Society’s Council to organise speaker(s) or tour guide(s) for the AGM (usually early September)
• Organise a biennial Symposium
• Report to Council meetings and annually to the AGM

You would have the help and advice of the Society’s Council and of Elizabeth Blood and the current President, Moira Ackers, who is herself a former events co-ordinator.
