We are looking for a new co-editor for Church Monuments

By CMS in Uncategorised

One of the main benefits enjoyed by Society members is Church Monuments, the annual peer-reviewed journal. The Society is looking for people interested in an editorial role. One of the co-editors will be stepping down once CM38 (2024) is published; a new member joining the team as soon as possible will aid a smooth transition. Who to appoint will be the decision of the remaining co-editor with the full transition taking place in the summer of 2024.

Prior experience is not essential. The editors work together, and guidance will be at hand. Candidates do not need to be an existing member of the CMS but must join before taking up the position. It is an honorary position with no remuneration.

The role provides an opportunity to contribute directly to the aims of the Society, and the new editor should benefit as well in return. The current editors feel they have gained from exposure to up-to-date research across a wide range of topics, periods and methodologies, as well as experience of academic publishing. For younger members, this is a chance to add an important role to their CV.

The description below provides more information about what the role entails. Please contact the current co-editor to express interest and/or learn more:

Closing date for applications is the end of September 2023.

We welcome contributions on a range of topics related to monuments and commemoration.
