Arrival, Ratcliffe on Soar, NG11 0EB (see note). Between 9.30 -11.00 [Accessible by ramp]. Coffee & Tea will be available.

11:00 Presentation by Ray State, author of The Alabaster Carvers, on all 5 churches and their monuments.  A Bookstall will be available.

12:00 Lunch and bookstall

13.10 Kingston. [Has a threshold but manageable for wheelchairs with help]. [Toilets and extra parking at village hall]

13:50 Thrumpton. [Accessible – step-free].

14:30 Barton. [Accessible by ramp]. [Toilets in village hall]

15:00 Gotham. [Accessible – step-free]. [Has toilets]

15:00 Coffee break and questions.

15:30-16:00 Disperse.


If arriving at East Midlands Parkway (10 minutes’ walk away), we may be able to arrange a volunteer lift to Ratcliffe, but we will need to know well in advance to organise this (please state this on your booking form and the planned time of arrival).

A route map and notes will be supplied on the day. Parking is not a problem but may be a good idea to buddy up in cars between churches. The drive distances between churches are very short.

The cost to CMS, MBS and MMT members is £25 (£30 to non-members). This does include lunch, refreshments at beginning and end of day and donations to the churches.
